Dan Federico is a full-time staff member at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, where he works as the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Director of Athletic Communications, a position he's held since July 2019. He was originally brought onto the staff as the Associate Director for Sports Information Director in October 2017. Dan also serves as the Director of Website Development in 2022.
Dan's key roles as Director for Athletic Communications are to oversee and maintain the University's athletic website, creating and editing game recaps and feature stories for UMSVAthletics.com, keeping statistics for all home and some road events for both the University and NCAA, creating and maintaining historical archives for each of the College's 16 athletic programs, promoting all sports through social media and the UMSV community, produce and design images and graphics for the College's athletic social media pages, help run game day operations and aid in facilities around the Peter Jay Sharp Center.
Dan worked side by side with Sidearm Sports, the college's athletic website provider, to create an updated and original layout design for the 2019-20 academic school year. He also implemented Instagram and YouTube accounts for the athletic department, as well as creating the inaugural athletics newsletter, with a new edition released each sports season. Dan is the main media contact for the athletic department and has brought various teams local news coverage. Dan started the transition from StatCrew to Genius, with all available sports fully implemented by the start of the 2022 season. Dan also serves as the chairperson for multiple athletic-related events, including the UMSV Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony as well as the annual Dolphy Awards, among others.
Before joining the ranks as an SID, Dan was a sports journalist for three years, where he covered the New York Yankees, New York Giants and New York Rangers for various media outlets, most notably Bleacher Report, The Journal News and Sports Illustrated.
Dan graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in May of 2014 with a BA in Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and was a four-year member of the school's lacrosse program.
Dan currently resides in Bronxville, New York with his wife Cinzia and his son Vincenzo.
