Riverdale, N.Y. - On Sunday, the College of Mount Saint Vincent's golf program hosted their first Skyline Conference matchup, as they took on SUNY Old Westbury at Saxson Woods Golf Course. Unfortunately, the Panthers defeated the Dolphins in Scarsdale, New York, by the score of 343-386.
The stroke total for CMSV set a new school record for lowest team score, but it was not enough to top the Panthers in the Conference opener. Leading the charge for The Mount was freshman
Devin Mendez, who carded a 12-over par 83 in the loss. Teammates
Jarrett McLean, Cameron Batt and
Justen Gent all fought hard in the cooler rainy conditions.
The team will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Albertus Magnus for an 11:00 AM matchup.
